SOLIDserver™ brings a high value added disaster recovery solution for IPAM and multi-vendors DNS-DHCP architecture based on simple, fast and secure built-in processes.

SOLIDserver™ disaster recovery plan inhibits technical handling on your network in the event of a crash of DNS-DHCP server. In 3 steps the crashed server is replaced and the service is restored within minutes while failover mechanisms ensure the service continuity.

A disaster recovery plan covers both the hardware and software required to run critical business applications and the associated processes to transition smoothly in the event of a natural or human‐caused disaster. As stable and uninterrupted business becomes increasingly critical, IT teams must ensure the continued functioning of core network applications and services. In the event of a disaster, a continuity plan is vital to ensure service delivery and thus business continuity. Additionally a fast and reliable recovery plan is crucial for mitigating the effects of disruption and resuming business activity. Businesses lacking such disaster recovery plans risk timely and unaccurate network recovery, company reputation, network security, and user/client satisfaction.

SOLIDserver™ has a local embedded database with integrity control mechanisms which requires no ongoing maintenance. The local database of all SOLIDserver™ appliances can be replicated in real time on an appliance called SOLID Master. The database replication includes the entire service, network and system configurations of the appliances. In this way, the DNS and DHCP architecture is its own backup architecture. In addition, backups can be done on a FTP server.

A high availability mode of the SOLID Master can be deployed by electing another SOLID Master in recovery mode. In case the primary SOLID Master fails the recovery SOLID Master is activated in a few second without any service interruption of remote servers.
